June is National Rose Month

June is National Rose Month, and now is the time to think about adding some beautiful roses to your life. They are a flower that has so much meaning with their fragrant scent and their delicate blossoms. Almost every person has received a rose for a special occasion and there is nothing more sentimental than a dozen roses. Every woman wants to receive roses at some point in her life. Why do we have such a fascination with this flower and how can we "celebrate" this year with roses?

How about celebrating with 1 dozen Euro-cut Medium Stemmed Roses for only $19.99 at either one of our locations. You can also get a dozen roses vased for only $34.99, and add another dozen for only $49.99. A big value for the money. Also, for every $40.00 arrangement you spend this month, you can add 6 roses to that arrangement for only $6.00.

There are many ways to celebrate the official National Floral Emblem of the United States. Here are some ideas for celebrating:

1.Fight the recession blues by adding at least one new rose to your garden.
2.Show your children or grandchildren how to plant and care for roses.
3.Take a Rose to someone you love.
4.Join a local rose gardening club.
5.Begin a garden blog to celebrate your rose garden.
6.Send roses to friends or family.
7.Post photos or videos of local rose gardens on Flickr or YouTube.
8.Gather your favorite rose photos and create a coffee table book to give as gifts.
9.If you are a scrapbooker, create a special page or whole scrapbook devoted to Roses.
10.Take a shut-in a Dozen Roses.
11.Give a rose plant to a nearby nursing home.
12.Volunteer to help care for the roses at a local park.

Interesting bits of rose trivia:

Since 1986 the rose has been the official National Floral Emblem of the United States.
A rose is the official state flower of: the District of Columbia, Georgia, Iowa, New York, and North Dakota.
George Washington was the first rose breeder in the US.
Roses are native plants in the US.
Roses are big business: 1.2 billion are sold annually.

However you decide to celebrate June and National Rose Month, remember to always "Stop and Smell the Roses".
